Why should we prioritize our goals in life? There are several reasons why we should prioritize our goals. One way to prioritize our goals is by rating our goals. If you have 5 goals you want to accomplish in a year, you rate them from 1 to 5. With one being the most important goal to you at that point in your life and ten being the least important goal at that time in your life.
Another reason why we should prioritize our goals is for direction. People that set goals in life, do it for direction. But it’s generally what they really want to do in life. I mean, who sets goals for fun. Let’s be honest! Most people sail through life sailing wherever the wind blows them. When realistic goals are truly set, you tend to be in tune with yourself and your ambition to accomplish your goals. The truth is life goes on with or without you. Setting life goals allows you to guide your life in the direction you want to go. You become more organized and efficient. It’s like a new years resolution. I remember when I was in college. I was determined to finish my degree in 3 years rather than 4. It was the most important thing to me at that time. I made it my priority. I set my mindset to it and accomplished my degree in 3 years.
After all, prioritizing your goals help set that mindset of what you are willing to give up in order to obtain that goal. Obtaining your goals doesn’t come without hard work, effort, and believing in yourself. Self-Confidence in your strengths is extremely important. At times, along the journey, you have to talk to yourself and be realistic about your strengths. Once you identify your strengths, you tap into it and use your strengths to your ability. You need passion and skill to accomplish your goals. Here is an example!
When I made the decision to start my own online business, I was so pumped up that I was ready to begin at that moment if I could. The idea of having my own business was even a motivation to push through all doubt. I realized this would be a life changer for my family and I. Could you imagine being your own boss? What about being able to travel whenever you choose to? Some online businesses allow owners the ability to work from anywhere in the world. Then reality quickly set in, starting an online business is very difficult and requires a lot of hard work, responsibility and attention. I decided that this is what I wanted to do and I will push through to make sure it becomes my reality no matter what. So, here I am doing what I wanted to do and this is the first goal I prioritized on my list (blogging).
